Minutes from the latest Friends of Ysgol Plas Brondyffryn.

YPB Friends Meeting 10/10/2017

Present:   Phil Greener ( Chairman ); Sharon Davies ( Interim Headteacher ); Tracey Pugh; Barry Morris and Joanne Morris ( Parents); Ruby Pugh (Observer ).

Raffle — agreed to try and run one before Xmas — subject to DCC finalising the change of promoter. Alternative is to sell numbered strips at coffee mornings etc.

Money raising ideas — bag packing at local supermarket; ask local supermarkets to run a trolley coin scheme using the school as a suggested recipient; seek donations of money and/or products from local businesses that we can sell at a summer fair etc or as raffle prizes; set up a community stall that we can “pop up” at various locations for the sale of school products or our own stuff; research possibility of running an online custard pie challenge.

Donations/Grants etc from large organisations — school to consider what projects and/or equipment they would like so that we can cost it and consider approaches to seek funding. Local wind farm company; large supermarkets; official organisations; lottery funding etc will be considered.

Summer Fair — last one organised was not well attended. Consider whether next year we publicise it in Denbigh and surrounding villages to try and attract a wider audience or whether we move to an online event — say an auction of promises?

Next couple of months to seek views of parents on above and research which options to pursue. Agreed next meeting towards end of January to allow new Head to settle in.
