What is Ysgol Plas Brondyffryn
Ysgol Plas Brondyffryn is the North Wales centre of excellence for Autism. It accepts pupils between the ages of  3 and 19 years of age and is situated over four sites in Denbigh. The school provides academic and life skills training for a wide range of abilities, and offers some overnight accommodation.

Who are the “Friends”?

We are parents, grandparents, staff and others who get together to help improve the lives of the pupils at Ysgol Plas Brondyffryn. We are registered as a charity to try and maximise the funds we raise. If you wish to help please contact post@ypbd.co.uk.

What do the “Friends” do?

We fundraise to buy equipment and services that fall outside the Local Education Department provision. We also organise social events for pupils and families to help to provide mutual support for parents and carers who understand the challenges and rewards of having a child on the autistic spectrum.

What are the “Friends” doing now?

The Friends are currently fundraising to support the development of an outdoor learning area at the school Ty’r Ysgol site to benefit the pupils from all sites with a therapeutic approach to outdoor learning. This project has been selected as one of the local causes to be supported by the Co-op Local Community Fund for October 2019 - October 2020. Please become a Co-op member at https://membership.coop.co.uk/new-registration and nomite us as your chosen charity to support.

The Friends have recently funded Urdd membership for pupils in preparation for the Urdd Eisteddfod in Denbigh in May 2020. We are also hoping to raise money to support the school with the purchase of ICT equipment for each pupil.

We would like to organise some social events for pupils and families and would welcome your ideas on these. We hope to start with a car boot sale in Spring 2020, watch this space for more information.
